An exhibition OF the woods, IN the woods. As part of The Big Retreat Wales festival, I installed empty frames in a woodland held within the festival grounds. With nothing inside the picture frames, the trees themselves became the art work. As viewers moved through the exhibition, the art work also moved and changed as the frames drew attention to different aspects of the wood. It was therefore up to the viewer to select the art work, to choose what parts of the wood were framed for them.

 

This idea came out of discussions with various people involved with nature-connection work and the link between connection with and protection of our natural world.
